Privacy Policy

Greffier is local-first by design. Your recordings, transcripts, summaries, and settings are stored on your own machine, in the app’s local data folder. Greffier has no accounts, collects no analytics or telemetry, and never uploads your meeting content anywhere by default.

If you choose to connect an optional cloud provider (for cloud transcription or cloud summaries) using your own API key, the audio or transcript you process with it is sent to that provider under that provider’s own privacy policy. Cloud features are always opt-in; the fully local modes never send content off your device.

Purchases are handled by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. When you buy a license, Lemon Squeezy collects your payment details, email address, and billing country (for sales tax and VAT) under the Lemon Squeezy privacy policy. We never see or store your card details.

License activation is the one network call Greffier itself makes for licensing: when you activate, the app sends your license key and a device name to the Lemon Squeezy license service, then re-checks the key periodically (about once a week when online). These checks contain no meeting content, and the app keeps working offline between them.

The app periodically checks GitHub for updates. Update checks contain no personal data beyond what any web request includes.
